Where do I even begin when trying to describe what transpired over the weekend for the band.....  We traveled to Westwego, LA for a show at their 4th annual Crawfish Cook-off and it was a blast! The crowd was hot, the weather humid, the crawfish delicious, and we set the Westbank on fire Cajun style. Many thanks to the people of Westwego for making us feel right at home and thanks to our new fans for showing your love and support for our rich Cajun heritage.

After leaving the "Bestbank," as the natives call it, we headed on down Hwy 90 back home to good ole Lafayette for The Melting Pot Show at the Blue Moon Saloon. There were four local bands of completely different generes (Folk, Traditional BlueGrass, Rock, & Traditional Cajun) rocking the house. Peter Youngblood Band kicked it off and did an outstanding job with his cover of Mean Woman. Peter was followed by the very talented Rayo Brothers and their Bluegrass version of Pine Grove Blues was enough to make Nathan Abshire want to take up playing the banjo. Sour Sedans set the house on fire with a rocked up version of Petite Ou La Grosse, and La Recolte closed the show Cajun style. In addition to our set, we included a Cajun version of Peter Youngblood's December Song, The Rayo Brothers' Dark Days, and the Sour Sedans' Down in the Swamp. The music was hot and almost everyone was dancing! It it wasn't for the sound man pulling the plug, they might not have let us go home!!

Many thanks to the Blue Moon Saloon and for sponsoring the event, Ryan Cazares and the Sour Sedans for such a phenominal idea, The Rayo Brothers and Peter Youngblood for sharing their talent with us, and to everyone for showing up ready to party. We do what we do because of you guys!

Until next time..... "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!!!!"
